SWEP recently announced the local winner for the Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship Program. Logan Bristle, son of SWEP employee Ryan Bristle (Plant Manager - SWEP Tulsa), is a high school student attending Jenks High School in Jenks, OK. Logan is one of the 29 winners representing Dover locations around the world.
Scholarships are made available to the children of full-time employees of Dover and its Operating Companies worldwide. Selections are made by a four-member committee of college admissions professionals from prominent universities based on academic excellence, leadership abilities and extracurricular activities. Winners represent both high school seniors and current college students who may receive up to $10,000 in scholarship support over the four years of their undergraduate education. Now in its tenth year, the program has made 343 awards providing approximately $2.3 million in scholarship support.
Logan Bristle, the scholarship winner from SWEP Americas, is an exceptional student at his high school where he is in the top 25% of his class maintaining a 4.02 GPA (Grade Point Average) while completing a very advanced curriculum. He is a member of multiple scholastic clubs such as the National Honor Society, Robotics, and the Pre-med society. He is also the winner of the Distinguished Graduate award which is a program that allows students to earn a distinguished diploma during their high school career. As part of his volunteer efforts, Logan has raised money for winter clothes and donated canned goods for people in need through the national honor society. He also volunteered at a local church, helping teach pre-school age children. He is the oldest child and the first to graduate high school which is a very special time for his family.
In addition to his academic achievements, Logan has also played the viola for six years and was part of the highest level of orchestra (Chamber orchestra) at his high school. He has also been a licensed referee in competitive soccer for the past 5 years and holds a part-time job hosting at a local restaurant called Louie’s Grill and Bar.
Logan will graduate high school this fall and take the next step in his academic journey at The University of Central Oklahoma with plans to major in Forensic sciences.
